Rahat Fateh Ali Khan arrested at Delhi airport

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Pakistani musical deva, arrested at New Delhi airport for allegedly carrying undeclared foreign currency.

Upon arrival from Pakistan, Rahat was spotted carrying undeclared US 100,000, and was being questioned by the custom officials at the airport. Rahat’s secretary Shrivatav was also arrested who was with him on that time.

Rahat, who has recently won the Filmfare Award for the Best play back singer, is imprisoned right now and is not allowed to meet anyone.

In July 2010, Rahat Fateh Ali was involved in controversy since organizer of a concert in Gurgoan filed a case against him because he failed to turn up for a show

Three top Pakistani singers have been nominated for Filmfare awards

Rahat Fateh Ali khan, who requires no introduction, has already won two awards this year for the ‘Best Playback Singer’, has also nominated for two more nominations for the same category in the 56th Filmfare Awards 2010.
Rahat is nominated for his song Sajda from My name is Khan and Dil tu Baccha hai jee from Ishqiya as well.

An interesting thing is that this time Rahat is not the only Pakistani nomination, apart from him Shafqat Amanat Ali for his song Bin tere from I hate love stories and Adnan Sami Khan’s Noor-e-Khuda have also been nominated.

Now it seems very difficult for any Indian playback singer to beat them.

This 56th Filmfare Awards 2010 will be held on 29th January 2011 which is the most awaited and grand celebration of Indian film industry.
